Our digital accessibility standards enforce WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across all touchpoints.
We treat digital accessibility with the same exacting discipline we bring to life-support regulator calibration and dive boat safety manifests.
What accessibility standard does this website target?
Budi Dive designs, builds, and audits its web pages against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA recommendations, alongside Section 508 and Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Our code uses pure, semantic HTML5 elements without framework layers. Every interactive element—from navigation dropdowns to chat toggles and tabular ledgers—is fully operable via keyboard, screen reader speech engines, and high-zoom user styles.
How are contrast ratios and industrial colors calibrated?
Our color system uses a cool slate ground (#E9EDF1) paired with deep carbon black-slate display ink (#0F1722) and slate body text (#3A4B5F). This pairing yields a measured contrast ratio of 7.8:1—well above the 4.5:1 minimum threshold required by WCAG Level AA for normal text.
Our industrial cold teal accent (#007799) and safety hazard amber (#D97706) are tested against both light and dark backdrops to maintain legible visual cues. We never rely on color alone to communicate state: errors, active links, and charter roster warnings always include visible text badges or clear geometric markers.
Can I navigate this site using only a keyboard?
Yes. All interactive controls are fully reachable and actionable using the Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, and Arrow keys. We provide an immediate skip-to-content link (Skip to main content) at the very top of every document so keyboard users can bypass global navigation directly.
Focus states are clearly marked with an unapologetic 2px high-contrast outline ring offset by 2px (outline: 2px solid var(--accent); outline-offset: 2px;). Focus is never suppressed or removed with outline: none.
How do screen readers interpret images, icons, and tables?
Every photograph in our manifest carries an intentional, descriptive alt attribute detailing gear models, water conditions, or instructional tasks (for example, "Balanced diaphragm scuba regulator first stage undergoing intermediate pressure calibration on workshop bench"). We do not use placeholder text or generic terms like "photo" or "image".
Decorative vector icons reference our shared SVG sprite and are explicitly shielded with aria-hidden="true" so screen readers do not stutter over meaningless markup. Complex tables—such as our data clause ledger and cookie inventory—use proper <th scope="col"> headers and responsive mobile data-label cues.
How are reduced-motion preferences handled?
We fully honor the prefers-reduced-motion: reduce media feature. When enabled in your operating system:
- CSS View Transitions between pages are immediately disabled in favor of instant native document swaps.
- The running technical spec ticker halts continuous translation and displays cleanly in place.
- All entrance wipes, clip-path reveals, and hover elevation translations are clamped to zero duration.
What accommodations exist for adaptive diving candidates?
Scuba diving has a proud history of adaptive instruction. At our Tampa training facility, we provide modified gear configurations for divers with mobility limitations, single-diver private coaching ratios, and customized pool entry logistics.
While diving certification requires passing specific life-safety drills (such as regulator recovery and underwater mask clearing), our NAUI instructors evaluate candidates based on individual capability, using specialized harness rigging, side-mount tank placements, and webbed gloves where appropriate.
How do I report an accessibility barrier or request assistance?
If you experience any difficulty accessing content on budi-dive.shop, or if you need course paperwork in an alternate large-print or digital format, please contact our accessibility coordinator directly. We respond to all accessibility feedback within 48 business hours.
